The Group's journey was started by Lt. Puran Mal Goenka in 1963 and now being led by his son Mr. Ram Gopal Goenka, Chairman of the group.Initially, the business commenced by trading of Grains,Rices and than commenced manufacturing of Steels Bars, GI Pipes, Ms Pipes, Tubular Poles etc. and trading of various Electronics products (Refrigerator, LED TV, Washing machines etc ), Edible oils, Rices, Bakery Items etc.
Goenka Group is one of the leading groups in
Nepal with diversified business involved in both Manufacturing and Trading of various goods. The group started
importing grocery items from India in 1963, the
first business commencement of the group in Nepal and thereafter the group has
rigorously diversified its business into different fields making its annual
turnover of more than NRs. 7 billion over a period of time.
Today, the group has four
manufacturing units: Goenka Steels (P) Ltd. And Goenka Cement (P) Ltd.,
Siddhivinayak Steels (P) Ltd & Siddhivinayak Oils (P) ltd the only
steel and cement units located adjacent to each other at Bhairahawa, Rupandehi,
Nepal, similarly the Refinery unit plant factory is located at
Ramgram-15,Sukrauli, Nawalaparasi, Nepal.
The trading business
portfolio of the group ranges from the import of rice, staple food of Nepal to
various types of products like Edible oils like RBD Sunflower oil, Soyabean
oil, Palm Olein, Refined Corn Oil, other items like Bakery Shortening, Puff
Pastry Margarine, Pasta & Spaghetti, Fully Refined Paraffin WAX, Ammonium
Bicarbonate, Calcium Carbide etc from different countries like China, Canada,
Argentina, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, Singapore, India.
The group also has its
presence in the business of electronics by being the sole authorized
distributor for Nepal of Khaitan Home Applainces, Cello Coolers
and Surya Fans and many more products in the pipeline.
The whole setup is based at
Bhairahawa with its own head office and warehouse located at Prahari Tole and
Bhalwari respectively while we have office and warehouse in Kathmandu as well.
The group directors have been
associated with various financial institutions as well. Mr. Ajay Goenka has
been the director representing Public Shareholders at International Leasing and
Financing Company Limited (ILFCO) and currently the Chairman of Manakamana
Laghubitta Bitiya Sanstha Limited.
Similarly, Mr. Ram Gopal
Goenka has been the chairman of Siddhartha Finance Company Limited.
